WhittleStix 'n' Nature Club
Aimed and planned for children aged 6-12 (under 6's must be accompanied by an adult), providing them with seasonal, nature and educational based activities in a woodland setting. These events are based on Forest School theory and can include building dens, natural art, safe tool use and knots leading to bush craft skills, bug hunting, identification skills, seasonal activities. fire lighting and cooking. Importantly, the children will be learning through their play and sessions are child led which enables them to explore and experience at their own pace.
Family Woodland Adventure Days
Designed for ALL ages, both adults and children, from the age of 0-60+ and provides an opportunity to spend some family time together outside creating your very own masterpieces and possibly learning a new skill. Events are based on Forest School theory and will involve basic fire-lighting, cooking over an open fire, learning a woodland craft and creating something to take home.

What does a Family or WhittleStix 'n' Nature Club Forest School session look like?
In general, a 3 hour session will follow the pattern below:
Introduction to each other and the site
Game based on fire safety
Activities-Wildlife Discovery-Plant Knowledge-Imaginative Creations-Woodland Craft
Free exploration and play time-can include den building
Fire lighting and cooking
Reflection and evaluation
All sessions are held outside, suitable clothing and protection should be worn or brought to the session.
Sessions will be cancelled in the event of high winds.
